If you're currently on a weight loss journey and have already lost a significant amount of weight, you may be finding it difficult to know when and how to stop losing and start maintaining. One major problem that dieters have is that they consistently change their goal weight as they continue to lose weight. You may have initially told yourself that you want to lose 50lbs, but you're now questioning this and are thinking that you'd rather lose 75lbs. There are some things you should know when it comes to losing weight and keeping it off.

One thing to remember is that there is a difference between an achievable weight and a maintainable weight. An achievable weight simply means that it is a weight that you can get down to through diet, exercise or by taking some type of supplement or pill. The achievable weight is normally not maintainable because it is your lowest possible weight that you can get down to. It is the weight in which you literally have to watch everything you eat and do so that you do not gain any weight back the next day.

Your maintainable weight is the weight in which you can maintain through proper diet and exercise each day. This weight is what you will be able to maintain for the rest of your life as long as you hone in on your self-control skills and exercise a few times a week. You may notice that your maintainable weight is something that you do not necessarily like, but it is the one at which you are going to be able to stay at without having to worry about every little thing that goes into your mouth.

Your first step would be to visit your primary care doctor and to ask about weight loss and what weight you should be considering your height, age and activity level. You can then establish a plan for yourself and set new goals that you will actually be able to stick to. Remember that your maintainable weight, though not the one you necessarily like, is going to be the easiest for you to maintain over time.

Can losing weight make you have more periods?

no. i don't know if there is any correlation between having periods and losing weight. i know that some birth controls will make you gain weight, but they don't necessarily stop your period. i just went off birth control after being on it for 3 years and the entire time i only had 2 periods!! but, i stayed exactly the same weight.
