Combination with a Gross Combined Weight Rating in excess of 26,000 lbs. with a trailer which has a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating in excess of 10,000 lbs = Class A

Single vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating in excess of 26,000 lbs. or any such vehicle towing a trailer with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating of 10,000 lbs. or less = Class B

Single vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating of 26,000 lbs. or less or any such vehicle towing a trailer with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating of 10,000 lbs. or less when it brings the Gross Combined Weight Rating up to an excess of 26,000 lbs. or any such vehicle towing a trailer of any weight rating which does not bring the Gross Combined Weight Rating in excess of 26,000 lbs. does not require a CDL, unless it's hauling a quantity of hazardous materials which requires placards to be displayed, in which case, a Class C CDL with hazmat endorsement would be required.

How do you obtain a class b cdl?

There's always truck driving school, which is a bit expensive. However, if you're going to be driving a Class 8 straight truck - which tend to use unsynchronised manual transmissions, you really would be much better off going to truck driving school. If you need a Class B CDL for something like a single axle straight truck, lots of companies can do on-the-job training for this.

Depends on the vehicle's Gross Vehicle Weight Rating. If it's 26,000 lbs. or less, you don't need to upgrade your licence. If it's 26,001 lbs. or more, you need a Class B CDL.

What type of license do you need for 1996 international flatbed tow truck?

International manufactures Class 5 through Class 8 trucks.. what licence you need depends on what model you have. If the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (i.e., the max loaded weight) is 26,000 lbs. or less, you can drive it on a regular drivers licence. If it's rated at more than 26,000 lbs., you need a Class B CDL.
