hello...where is the oil plug located on a 2002 Harley Road King Classic? *this bike is new to me...
Between the two shocks, towards rear. The oil, primary, and transmission plug are in the same general area.
Could be an oil flow problem but..............the back Jug always runs hotter!
I found the answer while I was searching... Apparently the rear shocks/struts have an external oil cannister that pumps oil into the struts when the cargo/boot area is loaded up with weight. From what I read, the rear will sag with a bit of weight over it, but after a 1-2km drive the oscillation caused by bumps in the road does the actual pumping of the oil into the struts. Now I've got to go try this for myself! -Steve

The oil drain plug on a 2002 Road King motorcycle is near the kick stand lever. Look for a bolt that is sticking out in a horizontal position.
4.3 quarts. (With cooler).
