If they are like most other cars, you just pull really hard.
Yes, partially pull out the carpet and remove the black plastic shroud (it's held in by two plastic screws). The relay has a green top (usually) and is situated on the driver's side wall in the trunk
In the trunk on the passenger side under a plastic tray - remove the trunk floor/spare tire cover. There are two plastic fasteners holding down the plastic tray - turn them a quarter turn in either direction and lift them out. The plastic tray takes a little work to pull out.
In the trunk, there is a black plastic cover on the right sidewall. Turn the Cover Knob to the left, open the panel. There's the jack. There is a panel in the trunk on the right side on the floor of the trunk. This panel encloses the Tire iron, used to get the lugnuts off the wheels.
The Transmission Control Computer is located on the passenger side engine compartment sidewall, Possibly hiding behind your coolant overflow bottle. The Engine Computer is sorta located in the same area, just on the driver side sidewall and is also enclosed in a plastic box that is connect to the air intake for air cooling. The Body Computer is located in the Trunk, Passenger side behind the trunk carpet cover mounted on sidewall.
In the trunk. Right hand side under sidewall flap.
It is in the trunk on the right side. You need to remove two plastic holding fasteners, lift the trunk (tire) lid and the right side cover should come off revealing the fuse box assy and the battery....John A Nemcik
check your trunk on the drivers side there is a switch under the trunk carpeting on the trunk sidewall - that's how it is in my mark 8 1995
that's creepy and possibly illegal..
If you can not remove fasteners from outside of trunk you must make a cut-out inside of trunk so you can get your hand to access bulbs.
1. Use punch or pen to push in on center of the four plastic fasteners, two on each side of the trunk lid. Then remove the fasteners. 2. Remove the five nuts that hold the assembly in place. There are two nuts on each side and one in the middle. The middle one is a little hard to find. Pull the carpet up and out of the way; the center nut is on the passenger side of the center latch. 3. Pull both plastic side flaps slightly away from the assembly and lift or pull the assembly away from the trunk. This will allow access to the lamps.
Look for #2057 bulb(Sylvania) You have to pop out the trunk trim from inside the trunk - it has plastic fasteners so you really have to pull hard. The carpet may also be hooked, so just un hook it. You should have 4 nuts on the inside of the trunk for each side take these loose and you'll be able to switch the bulbs from outside the trunk. Make sure your brake lights work - on a 626 the 2 tailight bulbs are the same as the brake lights.
