DD's are all dependent on the band size, as the band size increases so does the cup- so a 38DD is HUGE where as a 32DD is not, actually it is the same cup volume as a 38B!

People often misquote Dolly as being a 40DD, but at 5'0 and probably barely 100 lbs (maybe less!), I would estimate her to have a 40 bust, but a band size between 28-32... so she could be a 28K, 30J, or 32H! NO WAY is she a 40 band size! She'd have to be overweight, as she once was in the early '80s.

double d's

--------------------------

The first poster has made a big error. A 38DD would be the SAME VOLUME as a 32DD. However, a 32DD would appear bigger on the person because their waist is only 32 inches around, where the other individual's would be 38 inches around. (Same size breasts, but on a smaller individual is going to make the breasts LOOK bigger.) I'm not sure why an individual would say that a volume of DD is the same volume as a B. Bra size is commonly figured by measuring the inches of a woman's bust around the fullest part of her chest, then measuring around the narrowest part of her waist where the band of the bra would go. The second measurement is subtracted from the first, the differences in the first measurements determines the cup size (generally one inch for every cup, for example 1" or less = A, 2" = B, and so on.)

For example, my bust measures a little over 38inches. My waist measures 28 (we round this to 30 for ease of shopping). Following the common rules for fitting, I am a 30H. I am 5'2" and of average weight. (BMI of 23)

Therefore, Dolly could very easily have a G, or H cup size.

"A 38DD would be the SAME VOLUME as a 32DD." That statement is just wrong. The letter is a ratio, not an absolute. You could do the math. (Assume a perfect hemisphere pair). And whatever does breast or bra size have to do with waist size? This is whack!

I don't know the proper etiquette for fixing errors on this site but somebody should fix this.
