turn petcock to off and take gas lines off then remove the two bolts onrear sides of tank , then remove your speedo cluster lift up then unplug the 2 wire clips and unscrew speedo , feed cable and wires through hole , now pull tank back toward seat as you lift up and that should take care of your problem
