CH-24K stamped on any jewelery is the highest value used in jewelery.

You have a "gem" necklace. But take it to a jeweler and without telling him you already know you have as pure gold used, see what he says. Don't let it go for cheap.

What it actually means is that someone stamped 24KGF on them.

What it may mean, assuming they're not fake, is probably "24 Karat Gold Filled", or in other words, there's a thin (but much thicker than electroplating) surface layer of pure gold over a body of "base metal" (some alloy that's cheaper than gold; most likely brass).

I don't know why the term "gold filled" is used to refer to things that are actually "filled" with something other than gold, but there you have it.
