Diurnal motion is an astronomical term referring to the apparent daily motion of stars in "orbit" around the Earth, caused by the Earth's rotation around its axis. It is a rotation around the axis between the two celestial poles.

Planet Earth is like a spinning top that takes 24 hours to revolve a full 360 degrees on its axis (the north/south poles). As your position on Earth spins towards the Sun, it will appear to rise in the easten sky, travel over the equator and set in the west - but of course, the Sun doesn't move, the Earth does.

yes, the earth turns and orbits the sun at the same time so as we spin it looks like the sun is moving across the sky.

How fast does the moon and Cassiopeia's chair move across the sky?

The apparent motion of the Moon and stars (and therefore constellations, as well) across the sky is mainly due to Earth's rotation - so about one full round every 24 hours. The Moon takes a little longer (close to 25 hours) for one full cycle, due to its orbit around the Earth.
