Yes

No, but if you have Dish you may qualify for a upgrade for a Dish DVR.
No. In order to use a Dish Dvr, you need to have an active Dish account.
Yes. It's known as a dual DVR. Mine's a Dish Network unit and DirecTV has 'em too, but you have to be a subscriber and have ordered the dual receiver/recording unit. Other than that, I'm not sure that there are any others on the market.
Yes, Dish does offer DVR. It is usually around $10-$20 a month for the added service. I love my DVR too!
With Dish Network, yes. Your user guide will show you how this process works.
This may sound crazy, but change the batteries in your remote control for the DVR. When the batteries get weak, they tend to throw off random signals which can cause this to happen.
Depends on the make of DVR. The handbook is the best point of reference. Usually if it is in the process of recording, simply pressing the 'Stop' button will do it. If it is a program to be recorded, go to the 'library' or 'list' menu, select the program and either press 'record' again or one of the coloured buttons (depending on make of unit).
Yes. Depending on which DVR you have it is possible. Call Dish and they can tell you the procedure.
Dish Network's DVR receivers typically require a subscription to access their services and record programming. While you can purchase a Dish DVR receiver, ongoing fees for programming and features like DVR functionality are generally part of the service plan. Without a subscription, the receiver may still function for basic TV viewing but won't provide DVR features or access to Dish Network channels. Always check with Dish Network for the most current policies and options.
If it is a Dish or DirecTV DVR, you cannot.
