Other answers from our community: There are 4 Gospels written about Jesus. They are the books Matthew, Mark, Luke, & John. Answer

Two stories; Infancy including childhood and Ministry including death and resurrection. These divisions are of course contained within the four gospels, although it is worth realizing that Mark and John have no infancy narratives.

It is impossible to determine the exact number of books that have been written about Jesus Christ due to the vast amount of literature on the subject. Countless works spanning various genres, disciplines, and perspectives have been published over centuries, making an accurate count unfeasible.

As for modern biographies and biographies that have been written throughout history (ie the last 2000 years) these are far too many to be listed. They run into tens of thousands.

The Gospel stories (ie documents outlining the life, teachings, sayings and so on of Jesus, although not necessarily in strict chronological order) the four gospels and Acts, plus numerous non-canonical gospels and several references in the writings of secular contemporary historians.

The Gospels are believed to have been written from around 50-60AD to around 90-100AD. Mark, the first Gospel, is likely to have been written by John Mark a leader in the early Church and a companion of Jesus (almost certainly a member of the '72'). Matthew is likely to have been written by Matthew the apostle, or under his authority. Luke was the only gospel to have been written by someone who never met Jesus. In his two books (the second one being Acts) he makes it clear that, as a learned doctor, he was commissioned by a patron, Theophilus, to compile a systematic and complete account of Jesus' life and the early Church. The final gospel, John, was almost certainly written by the 'disciple whom Jesus loved' - John, son of Zebedee and the closest disciple to Jesus.

In addition to these works, there are many other non-canonical gospels including the gospel of Thomas, works attributed to Peter, Philip, and many others. Also, there are reliable near-contemporary works that were written by the early church leaders (eg Origen, Polycarp, Irenaeus etc) who could trace their lineage back to the apostles themselves (eg. Irenaeus was a pupil of Polycarp, who was a pupil of John the writer of the fourth apostle).

In addition, there are mentions of Jesus in many secular works by Josephus, Tacitus, Pliny the Younger and many other contemporary - or near-contemporary - secular historians.

To add to this thought:

The Old Testament itself has a number of prophesies about Jesus. A good portion of the 'Old Testament' prophecies about the coming of Messiah , and these prophecies were fulfilled when Jesus arrived.

There were at least 17 gospels written about Jesus, although a few were only sayings gospels, rather than life stories. The first gospel written as a life story of Jesus is now known as Mark's Gospel, although it was actually written anonymously. The other narrative gospels were all based, directly or indirectly, on this original gospel.
It was not until until about 180 CE that Irenaeus, assistant to the first Christian bishop of Lyon, insisted on the canon of exactly four gospels - Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

What is the parts of The Bible?

The Bible is a collection of 66 "books" divided into the Old Testament and the New Testament. The books of the Old Testament were all written before Jesus Christ. The New Testament books are about Jesus' birth, life, death, resurrection, and asecension; the early history of the church in the new covenant that Jesus established; and the expectation of Christ's return in glory. Other New Testament "books" are really letters written to Christians about living the life of a Christian in a God-honoring way.

Was the Bible wrtten 100 years after Christ was born?

The Bible is a collection of 66 books which were written at different times. The gospel accounts of Jesus' life were written later than Paul's books, possibly in an attempt to keep a record of the account of Jesus' life now that eye witnesses to his life were dying out.

What books of the Bible were written while Jesus was alive?

No books of the Bible were written at the time Jesus was alive on earth. The old Testament books had already been written, and the New Testament books started to be written within a few years of Jesus' death. All were written by 70AD. Do history books show that Jesus Christ walked on this earth?

The life of Jesus Christ was not noted by historians of that time (admittedly, there were not many historians at that period of history). Only the gospels of the New Testament record the life of Jesus, and those were written for religious rather than historical purposes. There is still some debate among historians, as to whether Jesus did, as you say, walk on this Earth, or whether he is a fictional character.

Who is the author of Romans-Philemon?

Our Apostle: Paul wrote 13 epistles/books (Romans thru Philemon). These epistles are written TO us living in the dispensation of the grace of God/the age of grace, or the body of Christ program. They contain the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, not according to prophecy. Paul, on behalf of Jesus Christ, says that we have all forgiveness up-front.CREDIT[GOOGLEDOCS]

Does the book of Mormon reference the resurrection of Jesus?

Yes! The Book of Mormon references the resurrection of Jesus Christ long before the event actually took place. In 2 Nephi chapter 9 (estimated to be written in 559 BC) we learn that it has been the plan of God from the beginning that there should be a resurrection brought about by the atonement of a Savior, who is Jesus Christ. In Jacob chapter 4 (estimated to be written in 544 BC), the atonement and resurrection of Jesus Christ is also mentioned. In the book of Mosiah, chapter 15 (estimated to be written in 148 BC) the doctrine of resurrection is discussed. Here, we learn that Jesus Christ will break the bonds of death, that He will be resurrected, and that through Him all others will be resurrected. Jesus' resurrection is also discussed in chapter 18. In Alma chapter 40 (estimated to be written in 74 BC), the doctrine of resurrection and the event of Christ's resurrection is discussed in further detail. Helaman chapter 14 (estimated to be written in 6 BC) teaches that "the resurrection of Christ redeemeth mankind." and foretells what those on the American continent will experience at the time of Christ's death and resurrection. The 3 Nephi tells of the events that occurred in the Americas at the time of Jesus Christ's death and resurrection, but does not repeat the Bible story of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. It describes a period of three days darkness taking place during the time Christ was in the tomb, and tells the story of the resurrected Christ visiting the Book of Mormon peoples several months after His resurrection. The later books of Mormon and Moroni, written a few hundred years after the life of Christ, remind us that we should have hope in the power of the resurrection of Christ.
