Fixed Joint is like your Cranium (head) as it doesnt move.

Slightly Moveable is like your Spine (Cartliginous) as it moves slightly

Synovial (Freely Moveable) Joints are all your other joints like your shoulder/knee/elbow/hip.... They consist of 4 Main Types Ball & Socket/ Hinge/ Pivot and Gliding

Are all synovial joints freely movable?

Short answer: Yes. Long answer: There are three types of joints: fibrous, cartilaginous, and synovial. Fibrous joints (seen in the skull's sutures) are always synarthrotic (immovable). Cartilaginous joints are both synarthrotic (seen in between the sternum and the first ribs) and amphiarthrotic (slightly movable). The last type of joint, synovial, comes in a variety of styles (saddle, ball-in-socket, ect.) and is always diarthrotic (moveable)

What is the difference between a bursa and the joint capsule?

I this its the following: Bursae - located between skin and bones, tendons and bones, muscles and bones, or ligaments and bones - Main function: reduce friction between joints Joint Capsule - surrounds a synovial joint and encloses the synovial cavity - Main function: unite the articulating bones and reduce friction via production of synovial fluid

What is a lubricating fluid found between two bones?

Synovial fluid is the lubricant between the ends of bones.

What are the types of movement for the ball and socket?

Synovial joints are the most common and most moveable type of joints in the human body. As with most other joints, synovial joints can move at the point of contact of the articulating bones. The main structural differences between synovial and fibrous joints is the existence of a capsule surrounding the articulating surfaces of a synovial joint and the presence of lubricating synovial fluid within that capsule

Is suture a synovial joint?

No, sutures are where two bones more or less fuse together into one bone.

Is the function of the synovial membrane?

The synovial membrane is the inner membrane of tissue that lines a joint. The synovial membrane secretes synovial fluid which serves to lubricate the joint and reduce the friction between bones in joints.
