The skeleton provides the main framework, the shape and integrity of the body.

If there was no skeleton, the body and its musculature would all lie as one big heap of muscle and tissue on the floor - a great big blob!

Muscles attach to the various parts of the skeleton, which allow you to move 'arms, legs, etc.' W/O the skeleton, muscles could not act.

It also allows channels and tunnels for the circulatory vessels and nervous tissue to pass.

Bones also act protectively. Perhaps the most obvious case of this is in the form of the rib cage, which protects heart and lungs - organs vital for very life itself. Some less known protection resides in that provided for the large arteries and nerves that pass under the arm pits and on the insides of the arm. Likewise, in the lower extremities, the hip bone, thigh bone [upper femur] and lower sacrum at the back protect bowels, vitals and large arteries and nerves that pass down the insides of the legs. The skull is one big protective mechanism.

Further, bone tissue supplies blood cells for the circulation and aids the immune system.
It gives support and shape to the body.

How are the two sytems skin and skeletal related?

The skin and skeletal systems are related through their interconnected functions in providing support and protection to the body. The skeletal system provides structure and support for the skin, while the skin helps protect the bones and other organs beneath it. Additionally, the skin contains receptors that sense pressure and touch, which are important for the skeletal system's coordination and movement.

What body systems would be affected by degeneration or cartilage in joints?

Degeneration of cartilage in joints primarily affects the musculoskeletal system, leading to conditions like osteoarthritis. Over time, this can impact other systems such as the nervous system due to pain and limited mobility, as well as potentially affecting the cardiovascular system if inactivity leads to poor circulation.

Are locomotion and heat production part of the skeleton system?

No, locomotion and heat production are not part of the skeletal system. The skeletal system provides structural support, protection, and aids in movement, but locomotion and heat production involve other systems such as the muscular and respiratory systems.

Which organ systems depend on the skeletal system for their function?

The skeletal system provides support and protection for the body's organs, allowing them to function properly. Organ systems such as the muscular system rely on the skeletal system for movement and stability. Additionally, the circulatory system also relies on the skeletal system to produce red blood cells in the bone marrow.

What other systems are closely related to the nervous system?

The nervous system controls all other body systems, and so is connected with all of them. The Muscular system is connected because the nerves send messages to the muscles if somethings wrong or hurt.

How does skeletal systems relate to other system?

The skeletal system protects most systems, while the muscel system moves the bones.

Why is skeletal system a system?

Becuase it supports you like your other systems

What systems work the muscular system work with?

The skeletal system is the organ system that works most closely with the muscular system.

What other system works with muscular system?

Other systems that work with the muscular system are the skeletal system. & the digestive system.

How the other body systems affect the skeletal system?

skeletal system affects other body systems in many ways. such as it affects circulatory system because red blood marrow in bone bone makes blood

What other system must work with muscles and how do the two systems work together?

the skeletal and muscular systems

What happens to the other systems if the skeletal system fails?

All the sytems will fail and you will die

What other systems does the muscular system function with?

The nervous system is closely related to the muscular system. The other would most likely be the circulatory system.

What system does the skeletal system not work with?

the skeletal does not work by itself it works with other systems in the body so that you could have more energy inside your body and that you could not be a big balloon and the skeletal system have 206 bones in the human body.

What system is affected with degenerative cartilage?

Cartilage is contained in the human skeletal and muscular systems. The nose, ears, and many other organs also contain cartilage.
