What would happen if two eggs were released at the same time but only one was fertilised. What would happen to the one that was not fertilised?

I don't think that would happen, because if both were released at the same time then the sperm would already be in the area, in order to fertilise the one egg. But the other egg would hardly be ignored. However, if it was, I think it's sage to assume it would either hang around until the other child is born, or be absorbed by it to create new cells. I think that the egg which was not fertilised would degrade. However, if it was kept for a long time, than it would probably die in the females body.

How do two identical twins develop in a female?

Identical twins develop when a single fertilized egg splits into two embryos. In a female, this occurs shortly after fertilization in the womb. These twins share the same genetic material and are always the same sex.

How are identical and non-identical twins produced?

When an egg is fertilized by a sperm, it becomes a zygote. That zygote goes through cell division to become an embryo.Sometimes, the zygote splits and becomes two separate organisms - they will be identical twins. If the zygote splits and separates multiple times, you can get triplets or even quadruplets. They will all be (more-or-less) genetically identical. If two eggs are released during ovulation and each one is fertilized (by a separate sperm) then you will have fraternal (non-identical) twins. Again, if multiple eggs are released (for example, when a woman is undergoing fertility treatments) and each one is fertilized by a separate sperm, you can get triplets, quadruplets, etc. They will all be genetically different and can even be different sexes.

Does identical twins have to run in the family?

Identical twins do not necessarily have to run in the family. Identical twins occur at random, when a fertilized egg splits into two embryos, and this can happen to anyone regardless of family history.

What each organs of the body are egg cells produced?

The ovary, the female has two and it travels down the fallopian tube (oviduct) and is fertilised in the Fallopian tube. Hope this helped

What two important things result from meiosis?

WHEN THE FERTILISED EGG SPLITS UP INTO TWO EQUAL SECTIONS WHICH HAVE THE SAME DNA IN BOTH PARTITIONED CELLS.lATER ON ABOUT 2 DAYS LATER THE EGG WILL THEN SPLIT UP FURTHER UNTIL WE GET TISSUES AND ORGANS

What happens to the fertilised egg in the first few weeks?

It splits into two cells and these split into two each and so on until you have a ball of cells. These are assigned various tasks. The phoetus implants into the uterus wall

Are there any twins?

Identical twins are formed when an egg fertilised by a sperm splits in half to form two different embryos.

How do much does sperm enter the egg to have twins?

It needs one sperm and one egg.Very early in the egg's development, the fertilise egg splits into to separate bits that become detached from one another. These develop into two babies which are identical because they came form one original fertilised egg.

What are nonidentical twins?

Non-identical twins occur when the mother ovulates and two separate eggs are released and fertilised. This is different to identical twins, they occur when one original egg splits n two and develops in tandem. then yo have sex

Can you produce twins if you are not a twin?

Yes, it's just an anomaly when the egg splits into two separate cells, and this can happen to anyone as it is not genetic.

How many chickens does it take to lay an egg?

One. Two if you want the egg to be fertilised and produce a chicken.

Identical twins happen when the two eggs are fertilised?

No. They have to come from the same egg and sperm to have the same DNA (and be identical). Fraternal twins are non identical twins and come from two separate eggs.

How do twins form?

Identical twins form when an egg is released from the ovary and is fertilised by a sperm and then splits into two. They then form naturally. Non-identical twins form when two eggs are released from the ovary and then fertilised by a sperm. They also form naturally. Identical twins have to be of the same sex (two boys or two girls) because they have come from the same egg which contains the same DNA. Non-identical twins can be either boy and girl or of the same sex (two boys or two girls) because they came from two different eggs and so have two different sets of DNA.

What is the difference between a fraternal twins and identical twins?

If two (or more) eggs are fertilised and develop together you will get fraternal twins. Identical twins are the result of a single fertilised egg dividing into two embryos.

Why are some twins identical and some not?

The reason why some twins are identical and some are not starts in utero. Identical twins occur when one egg is fertilized and it splits to create two embryos. Nonidentical twins come from different fertilized eggs.
