One can suffocate when there is insufficient supply of oxygen to the body. This can occur under water, in chemical contaminated areas, pollution of air with excessive carbon monoxide or nitrogen. Suffocation can also occur when a person gets buried under heavy load or gets trapped under sand.

well when i got choked out by my older sister, i couldn't breathe, and my hands went cold... and my brain hurt...(with what brain i have) 1 ear was warm, and 1 ear was cold.
