Why plants in polar regions have very short growing season?

Plants in polar regions have very short growing seasons due to extreme cold temperatures that inhibit plant growth. The presence of snow and ice for much of the year also makes it challenging for plants to grow and photosynthesize. Additionally, limited sunlight during the polar winter, known as polar night, further restricts the time available for plants to carry out photosynthesis and grow.

Why are moses the most abundant plants in polar regions?

Mosses are the most abundant plants in polar regions because they can tolerate extreme cold, have a low growth profile that helps them avoid damage from wind and ice, and can efficiently capture and retain water in their cells to survive in the harsh polar environment. Their ability to reproduce through spores also allows them to quickly colonize new areas in the polar regions.
