the outer most temperature, which is blue and hardly visible, is the hottest part of the flame. This is also called the non-luminous zone of the candle flame. Complete combustion takes place here. The next is the yellow part of the flame. This has a moderate temperature and is called the luminous zone. Partial combustions takes place here. The innermost and the last part of the flame, which is black, is the least hot and this contains unburnt wax vapours.
