They use a pH meter.

The scale is called pH scale, any value below 7 is acidic (the lower, the more acidic)

Any value more than 7 is basic(the higher, the more basic)

What is the scale called that measures the strength of acids and bases?

This scale is called the pH scale. Some say this stands for " the power if the hydrogen ", or " the power of hydronium. "

What is the scale you use to measure acids and bases and what is the range of number?

the scale used to measure acid and bases is called a pH scale. the numbers range from 1-14 and go as following- to show an acid= 1-6 nuetral= 7 to show a base= 8-14

What does PH scale describes?

The PH scale is the measurement of acids and bases. 8 and up are bases. 6 and lower are acids. 7 is neutral.

How are acids and bases described in the pH scale?

Acids and bases are described in the pH scale based on their strength. For instance, lactic acid has pH 6,but curd, obtained from milk itself has pH 3! HCl is called as the "king of acids" with pH 1. {on the pH scale,if any substance has pH 7, its considered acidic, while anything above 7 is basic.} Acids or Bases can be considered as acidic or basic by the colour changes in the pH scale{eg:red to orange[neutral]to violet}.

The scale used to measure the strength of an earthquake is called the Richter scale

What is the pH scale in terms of acids and bases?

it is a scale that measures liquid

What are the units used to measure acids and bases?

The concentration of an acid or base in solution is measured in moles per litre. The strength of an acid or base in solution is measured on the pH scale. This is the negative log of the hydrogen ion concentration. It's a pure number, there are no units.

How do acids and bases reacts with each other?

Well you measure acids and bases from what is a pH scale anything under 7 is an acid the lower the number the stronger the higher which is 7 above is bases so they are stronger they get. They might just form a stonger acid or base if come together.

What is the numerical scale used to express the strength of an earthquake?

The Richter scale is used to measure the strength of earthquakes.

What is pH scale how it is used?

a pH scale is something used for measuring the strengths of acids and bases.
