Its volume expands when water turns to ice, so one gram of ice has a volume slightly larger than one millimeter of water. The specific gravity of ice at freezing is 0.9168, which means that frozen water has a volume about 9 percent higher than when it was a liquid.

No. A gram is a unit of mass or weight. A milliliter is a measure of volume. You cannot directly equate these two different measurements. You cannot say, for example, that a person is 180 pounds tall or that a person is six feet in weight.

That said, there are relationships between some common volumes and weights. For example, a milliliter of pure water at 20 degrees C and standard atmospheric pressure weighs 1 gram. That is a relationship between two measures for a given chemical.

Yes but only for water assuming its density is 1 gm/cc or 1gm/ml (note: 1 cc = 1 ml).

Not necessarily, it depends on the substance that is one milliliter, if it is water then yes but 1 milliliter of gold doesn't weight one gram and same for many other substances.

If 1 gram of water has a volume of 1 milliliter what is mass of 1 liter of water in kilograms?

The answer would be 1 kg. If one milliliter of water weighs one gram, one liter of water weighs 1000 grams, which equals one kilogram.

How many milligrams equal 1 milliliter?

Milligrams versus millilitersOne milliliter of water weighs one gram. There are 1000 milligrams in one gram. One milliliter of other substances will weigh more or less, depending upon their densities. A millilter of gasoline, for example, weighs less, and a milliliter of mercury weighs more -- WAY more. (No pun intended.)Milligram is a unit of mass; milliliter is a unit of volume. You can't directly convert the two. If you know the density of a substance, you can say, for example, "1 milliliter of water has a mass of 1 gram (1000 milligrams)", or "1 milliliter of lead has a mass of about 11 gram".

What is greater grams or milliliter?

There is no definitive answer to this question. Gram is a measure of weight and milliliter is a measure of volume. How much a milliliter weighs or how much volume a gram will have depends upon the specific gravity of the material being measured.

One gram of water equals what volume?

The mass and volume of water was used to define the SI units for weight and volume, and is almost exactly 1 gram per milliliter (1 gram/cm3).Although this changes slightly with temperature, one gram of water is one cc or one mL of water.A liter of water at 25°C weighs about 0.997 kilograms.

A milliliter is equivalent to?

1 milliliter = 1 cubic centimeter or 0.001 liters.

Yes, at 3.98 °C one milliliter (cubic centimeter) of water has a mass of 1.00 gram

What is grams to milligrams?

This depends on the liquid. One gram of water = one milliliter of water. But if the density is different than that of water, then one gram of the substance will not equal one milliliter of that same substance.

Are grams milliliter and liter the same measurement?

No, but they are linked. one milliliter of water at a certain temperature will be one gram.

One milliliter is equaled to one gramml are volume, grams are weight. it would be like asking how many miles in a pound?

Are grams and centimeters cubed the same units of measurement when finding density?

No. A gram is a unit of mass. Centimeters cubed is a unit of volume. A milliliter is equivalent volume to a cubic centimeter, though.Common units of density are grams/milliliter or grams/cm3, which are equivalent.
