Pesticides are not harmful to the environment except when they are used improperly or in excess. All human activity impacts the environment (example: cities and towns encroach on ecosystems) but we are generally willing to accept some environmental impact to assure our own survival. In the case of pesticides for crops the food requirements of our present population could not be supported by pesticide free farming.
In their improper use the pesticides can wash into rivers and stream impacting fish and water plants, on land excessive use can impair drinking water.
They are not supposed to & with today's products shouldn't. They are designed to break down which is why routine application is needed. As for fertilizer, I can't say but shouldn't unless contains something not needed to replenish soil properties. Most fertilizers are all natural anyway except potting soils which are only used indoors.
Herbicides and pesticides have adverse effects on the environment
They pollute it and endanger the biodiversity of species.
collecting i and polluting fresh water supplies.
love the site
yes it kills plants :(
as the fertilizers and pesticides are made from chemical substances that is why when we put fertilizers instead of cow dung etc the soil become dry and pollute. shaghaf ghufran qureshi
Runoff carries any loose, soluble or dissolvable material. In the natural environment this would be sediment, rocks, and soil. In a farming environment this could also include animal waste, pesticides, and fertilizers. Urban runoff could contain road salt and deicers, gasoline, lawn fertilizers and pesticides, oils and greases, antifreeze from automobiles, soaps and detergents from home car washing, latex particulate from tyres, pet fees, and any spilled chemicals from industrial operations.
Excesive use of pesticides effect not only bugs, termites, man but has also severe concern on ozone depletion.
Inorganic fertilizers are used to improve the production of cereals and other edible plants. They also can improve the quality of soils. But the abuse or incompetent use of fertilizers must be avoided; pollution of the environment is the consequence.
In terms of attitude, they treat their soil with respect. If you mean in terms of chemicals, they treat their soil with fertilizers and pesticides.
Stop the use of pesticides because it is not good for the environment. But don't stop using fertilizers because they are good for the environment or at least some of them are!
Non organic foods are grown using synthtic pesticides and fertilizers that can harm the enviroment.
native plants had most requirements of fertilizers and pesticides.
Herbicides and pesticides affects the environment by helping the food yield from being affected by bugs. On the other hand, they adversely affect the environment and our health.
how might pesticides and fertilizers on land become a problem in an ocean ecosystem
the weeds are killed, crops don't die, which is alot more economically friendly than taking a fuel burning tractor and driving about a field with a weeder, so organic crops are worse for the environment

Bad farming practices means practices that are harmful to the land or the environment. This includes using harmful pesticides and fertilizers.
They don't. It has been tested and proven that pesticides and fertilizers make no difference to the taste of food. As well as this, it turns out that organic products have no higher health benefit that of normal, non-organic foods!!

Fertilizers and pesticides are chemical products.
No, for all practical purposes. Radioactive materials are not put in pesticides and fertilizers. To be very precise, there are radioactive isotopes all around us, and some of these are in pesticides and fertilizers. 0.012% of all potassium is radioactive, and some is bound to be there. But it is also everywhere else, it is needed for life, and it is not something to worry about.
