electronic balance is a device for the accurate measurement of weight.

This is achieved by using a device called the load cell which acts as the transducer. The load cell is a wheatstone brideg wired to give a small but accurate voltage ( usually in millivolts) to an stable electronic amplifier.

The amplifier converts the millivolts to disply the same as a digital display of grams or kilograms.

There are additional features such as tare, total and preset which can be included in the standard scale.

What instrument would you use to measure the mass of a dry chemical?

You would use a balance or scale to measure the mass of a dry chemical. This instrument can give you an accurate measurement of the amount of substance present by comparing it to a known reference weight.

What are the differences between electronic balance and analytical balance?

Electronic balances need no such known masses once they have been properly calibrated. Analytical balances are very accurate and until the advent of semiconductors were the only scales available.

When should you not use a Bunsen burner inside a lab?

You should not use a Bunsen burner inside a lab when there are flammable materials nearby that could ignite or if there is poor ventilation that could lead to a buildup of fumes. Additionally, if the lab does not have proper safety equipment in place, it is not advisable to use a Bunsen burner.

How do you properly clean an analytical balance?

To properly clean an analytical balance, use a soft brush or cloth to remove any debris or dust. Then, use a mild detergent and water solution to wipe down the surfaces. Be careful not to get any liquids inside the balance. Finally, use a lint-free cloth to dry the balance thoroughly before use.

When might you need to use a thermometer in a lab?

You might need to use a thermometer in a lab to measure the temperature of a sample or solution, monitor the temperature of a reaction, or ensure that a process is carried out at a specific temperature for accuracy and reproducibility of results.
