Undbitr. It is the same colour of his dragon's scales. Saphire. He lost it when his dragon was killed. It was forged by Rhunon, using Brightsteel.
If you are talking about Eragon's dragons name it is Saphira. If you are just talking about the dragons in the series it is Thorn, Gladier and I dont quite remember Galbatorix's dragon's name.
Brom told Eragon that female dragons' names end in -ia, which is a common suffix for female names. For example, the female dragon who chose Eragon as her rider is named Saphira.
The ones that are openly named in the series include: Saphira 2 - Eragon's Dragon Thorn - Murtagh's Dragon Glaedr - Oromis' Dragon Shruikan - Galbatorix's second Dragon Firnen - Arya's Dragon Shaphira 1 - Brom's Dragon Bid'Daum - The First Eragon's Dragon Belgabad - the largest Dragaon during the fall of the Riders Umaroth - Vrael's dragon Valdr - an Elder Dragon found in the Vault of Souls (an Eldunari) Vanilor - the king of the Dragons And then you have the 13 Dragons of the Forsworn whose names were banished so no one remembers them.
SHE DID HAVE FEELINGS FOR GLAEDAR YET HE REJECTED HER. SHE CONSIDERS THORN THE "RED RUNT" THUS SHE HAS NO FEELINGS FOR HIM. SHRUKIEN IS EVIL AND WICKED THUS SHE WILL NOT MATE WITH HIM. ITS MY BELEIF THAT SHE WILL MATE WITH THE GREEN DRAGON WHICH WILL POSSIBLY HATCH FOR ARYA SO THAT BOTH ERAGON AND SAPHIRA WILL HAVE MATES.
The third book of the Inheritance series. By Christopher Paolini. Also the Ancient Language word for fire. Also Eragon, the main character's sword's name that he chosen in the book Brisingr.
"Shades" from the book series "Eragon" are not trademarked. The concept of shades as a type of creature or character is a common fantasy trope and not specific to the series. However, specific names or phrases used in the book may be trademarked.
Eragon is a fictional teenage boy, the protagonist from the Inheritance Cycle, a series of books by Christopher Paolini. He was born and raised in the village of Carvahall, near the Spine. His mother is already dead. His cousin's father, Garrow, and his cousin, Roran, live with him. While hunting in the Spine, he finds a blue dragon egg. The dragon hatches and he keeps it in the forest near him. Once the dragon starts talking to him (telepathically) he names the dragon Sapphira. He becomes a dragon rider and with Brom leaves Carvahall before the evil King of the land he lives in (Alagaesia) can capture him and force him to serve him. Brom dies later on. Eragon joins the Varden and gets training from the elves who live in the north. He fights and kills the Evil King and frees Alagasia.
At the end of the last book, 'Inheritance' She names her dragon Firnen and her dragon and Saphira fall in love. I loved reading the last book :)

First, examine the names of the four cover dragons: Sapphira, Thorn, Glaedr, Firnen. This proves that there is a lot of variety in dragon names. A complement to each one (the last two being counted as one because they are both elven names) would be Veritas, Shiv, and Froknir.
