What are the pros and cons of dial-up Internet access?

Disadvantages

If you have ever used the old dial up system you would know about how slow it was and how it would randomly disconnect/ freeze. The advantages were few with dial up, but with broadband there are more advantages because it does not disconnect, in slow , and is always on.
