The most common way people go about this is to use windows firewall. IT IS A VERY BAD IDEA PEOPLE. you can get a virus very easily through that firewall. i would suggest avg anti virus or mcafee. Download an anti-virus like Kaspersky. If you a setting this up for a child, you can set the computer on "lock-down". They won't have as many opportunities, but it will protect the computer a little more for a little child. Hope this helps!

2. Install an anti-malware program (like Spybot Search and Destroy or Malwarebytes)
