AnswerI'd guess no more than a gram of gold on good-quality motherboards, maximum. It's only used for jumpers, and they are tiny pegs of metal. There may be some in the CPU pins too. See this image, the small straight pins are humpers, there may be up to 20 of these on a motherboard. Gold is used for connections. The contacts for hard drives, wireless modules etc, have their contacts gold plated for reliability, as gold does not tarnish with age.
