Computer takes long time to load?

• Sometimes there is nothing really wrong and the computer is just slow.
• Sometimes it means your network is not plugged in and the computer waits about 45 seconds or so before it times out.

First thing is go to system preferences click startup disk and click on Mac OSx and restart it there. Also I would recommend you repair disc permissions on your iMac. Make sure there is no other hardware or video game console connected to your iMac. Disconnect everything but the mouse and keyboard. A printer may be causing the problem. Another thing is you may have too many things running at startup. Open System Preferences and click User & Groups or Accounts. Click the Login Items and hide any application that are not needed at startup.
