A liquore license will run you typically $50,000-$100,000 depending on the specific area. In some areas like Georgetown or Adams Morgan it can even be north of there. The prices are set by the owners and there is such a finite number of licenses available in many of the submarkets of DC, especially where moratoriums have been eneacted, that prices can sway tremendously. We will likely see a slight decrease in prices because of the economy, but for areas with zoning for restaurants/bars those licenses are usually looked at as a must-have to come with the leasing of a property and as such are infrequently offered for sale. I do lot of retail commercial real estate representation, as well as office, so if anyone needs any help in DC or other markets, feel free to contact me.
