Coriolis affect- the tendency of and object moving freely over the earth's surface to curve away from its path of travel. this shifts the wind to right in the northern hemisphere and to the left in the southern hemisphere.
Friction- the friction between the air and the ground slows down the surface wind.
Pressure Gradient- causes air to flow toward and area of low pressure.
