What is a good answer to why would you like to become a high school teacher?

Addendum:In answering it you will want to consider the reasons you went into education in the first place. Some say they did it for the pay, but that is ludicrous; no one who goes into education for the pay remains long. Most say they did it to make a difference. I can tell you this was one of my driving forces and related to it were my memories of my elementary and secondary education experiences; I hated school, and I wanted to help other kids not hate it. I wanted to show that I could do things differently, and do those different things in a more effective way.

You could talk about the first time you "saw the lights go on." As cliche as these stories have gotten, they are still pertinent.

You could talk about your philosophy of education. Are educators there to fill up students with knowledge, or are they there to lead students to discovering knowledge? Are teachers givers or facilitators?

You could discuss your ideas on discipline and correction. Are there bad kids or kids who make bad decisions?

Look at your perspectives and think about how you can share them in the most positive light. Wording is important, but communicating passion is more so.
