Microsoft Visual Basic is a programming language and is considered RAD(rapid application development) software that is used for creating applications. Visual Basic uses a programming language called NET Frameworks to take one programming language and decompile and recompile into a different language (vb to c#/c++). Some other popular programming languages are C++, HTML, JAVA, SQL, PHP, DELPHI, etc. Programming languages are the most common method of creating computer programs.

VB is a BASIC-based language that allows a programmer to make Windows applications very easily. It is probably the second easiest programming language (in my opinion). BASIC is the easiest. C++ is one of the hardest, but you can do anything with it.

Me being a programer in it, I would have to say it is a very easy language to learn. Its not a powerful language and is mainly used for databases, but you can make a few good programs with it.

At first it was very hard to make any more advanced then a database or simple program with just a few items and math equations but now people are starting to tackle really hard things with about the only area left unpioneered by people being 3-d games which some people have gotten close to (2.5 D) but not quite achieved yet!

The language not only allows programmers to create simple GUI applications, but can also develop complex applications. Programming in VB is a combination of visually arranging components or controls on a form, specifying attributes and actions of those components, and writing additional lines of code for more functionality. Since default attributes and actions are defined for the components, a simple program can be created without the programmer having to write many lines of code. Performance problems were experienced by earlier versions, but with faster computers and native code compilation this has become less of an issue. Although programs can be compiled into native code executables from version 5 onwards, they still require the presence of runtime libraries of approximately 1 MB in size. This runtime is included by default in Windows 2000 and later, but for earlier versions of Windows like 95/98/NT it must be distributed together with the executable.
