MCBs are miniature circuit breakers with optimum protection facilities of overcurrent only.These are manufactured for fault level of up to 10KA only with operating current range of 0.5 to 63 Amps (the ranges are fixed), single,double and three pole verson.These are used for smaller loads -electronic circuits,house wiring etc.
MCCBs are Moulded case Circuit breakers,with protection facilities of overcurrent, earth fault.it has a variable range of 50% to 100% operating current.They can be wired for remote as well as local operation both.They are manufactured for fault levels of 16KA to 50KA and operating current range of 25A to 630Amps.They are used for aplication related with larger power flow requirement.
*MPCB (Motor Protection Circuit Breaker) is a combination protection unit comprising the functions of a switch, a short circuit protective device and an over load relay. They are designed for various current rating to suit different capacity motors. Their quality is defined as per IS 13947 / IEC 947
MCB is only a simple circuit breaker which has only limited capability of overcurrent and short circuit current protection.
*Miniature circuit breakers (MCBs) are fitted as protection units in place of fuses. They have the advantage that they can be manually reset without having to replace wire as in the case of the traditional fuse. The MCBs have either a button or lever that can be flicked to reset it. The MCB tripping is an indication either that the circuit has been overloaded or that a short circuit has occurred somewhere in the system. Depending on their type they can rated for different applications-
B type - General Domestic Consumer Unit use
C type - Motor Rated
And others - Inductive, Capacitance, Reactive loads, etc.
The Motor Protection Circuit Breakers (MPCBs) provide short circuit protection, overload protection, and motor disconnect functions.
The MPCBs may be combined with a magnetic contactor to provide 2 component combination starters and with the addition of an overload relay. They generally provide contacts to indicate position (Trip, Not Tripped) and also axillaries contacts normally open closed - Operational range usually from 0.11 A to 100 A and this is usually adjustable from the front of the unit as opposed to MCB which are generally set. They are also more expensive.
A circuit breaker is designed to protect circuits, while a contactor is designed to close or open circuit.
mpcb has an inbuilt contactor and relay.so need for external contaectors and relays. mccb ther is no contactor and relays, we have to provide.
VCB (Vacuum circuit breaker) is generally used for higher voltage and higher current systems. MCCB is used for lower and lower current ranges.

The definition of MCB is a miniature circuit breaker, it trips if there is a line to natural fault. Ill add some extra information about the different types. RCD - residual current device = This is what you could separate you're circuits up with by inserting 1 of these in you're consumer unit (if you have lets say 10 circuits it goes like this... rcd-mcb-mcb-mcb-mcb-mcb-rcd-mcb-mcb-mcb-mcb-mcb-main switch. you see the rcd's control 5 circuits each, if 1 of these circuits had an earth fault on it, the rcd will trip and 5 of them circuits will go off, which means you have to keep tripping in you're rcd with an mcb 1 at a time to see which circuit the fault is on. RCBO - residual current breaker with overload protection- These can be installed in place of mcb's and rcd's, the rcbo is an mcb and rcd in 1 breaker. For example, i have installed a consumer unit full of these, in this case if a circuit forms a fault then its only that circuit that goes off. The main difference between MCB, RCCB, and Isolators Isolators are generally used in power system while on the other hand, MCB is the circuit breaker. Isolators are manually-operated device, and on the contrary, the circuit breaker is the automatically-operated device.

Fuse or MCB
If an MCB trips you can simply close it and be done. If a fuse blows you need to replace the fuse /fuse wire, not so convenient.
MCB stands for miniature circuit breaker , which provides protection against over current. the setting is not adjustable. RCB stands for residual circuit breaker which provides protection against earth fault as well as over current. It monitors the current difference between phase and neutral and if the difference is more than rated value say 200 milli amps it will trip.
