Ideally speaking Axles are meant for balancing/transferring Bending moment and Shafts are meant for Balancing/transferring Torque.But,they can be used interchangeably also.We can have a shaft which also transmits Torque as well as Balances bending moment and in the same way an axle can also function as shaft.Such machine elements which function as axle as well as shaft are called Axleshafts.Axleshafts are designed while taking care of the acting Bending Moment as well as Torque. The terminology is, unfortunately, somewhat confusing; what I learned to call "torque" in a U.S. physics high-school book - a product of force x distance - is called "moment" in some other countries. Torque is a movement force. One difference between dynamic torque and static torque is the level of difficulty to measure. Static torque is each to measure, while dynamic torque is not. This is because it requires a transfer of an electric or magnetic effect.
Load torque is the torque required by the load and motor torque is the torque available at the shaft of the motor.
