Non fiction means something that is factual (true) i.e. a biography or a book about dogs. Fiction means something is made up i.e. Harry Potter
Actually, it would be MUCH MORE ACCURATE to say that non-fiction is something that is PRESENTED as true. Not all non-fiction is true. Religious writing is non-fiction. Philosophy is non-fiction. Are all philosophies true? Scientific essays are non-fiction. Are they all correct? You can find any number of books on politics in the non-fiction section at a bookstore. Are these filled with nothing but truth all the time? Hardly.
It is simplistic to use an equation like "non-fiction=true", because plenty of non-fiction is rubbish. Also, it is not good for students to be taught that anything found in a non-fiction book is completely reliable and beyond question. It should be read critically. Not that everything should be questioned and treated wth great skepticism, but much non-fiction should be read with skepticism.
Non ficta, or non fiction, is a real story. Fiction is fake.
Non-fiction is a story or book that is true, that really happened. Fiction is a story or book that is made up, that did not really happen.
First of all, its fiction and non fiction.A fiction book is a story that has been made up - think fiction = fakeA non fiction book is a story/information that is true - think non fiction = not fake
Fiction is not real, but I wouldn't say always fake. Fiction writers often show truth more clearly than non-fiction writers because they have the flexibility to blow it up bigger than life and display it more clearly. It's kind of like parables. They never really happened to anyone, but they teach lessons that are quite true.
fiction is Imaginary stories, non-fiction is real stories
Fiction is fake non fiction is not fake.
it is different because non fiction is real and fiction is fake such as Fairy Tales

Non-fictions books are true. An easy way to remember is to equate fiction with fake. This isn't too difficult; both words start with F. Then you can remember that fiction books are fake and non-fiction books are not-fake.

Beause it's fiction. If they were real characters, it would be non-fiction.
The term "non-fiction" originates from the Latin word "non" meaning "not" and "fictio" meaning "a shaping, a fashioning." It refers to works that are based on real events, facts, and information rather than being imaginary or made up.
Speculative Fictionor the more respectable branch of Science Fiction
Fiction writing involves creating stories that are not based on real events or people, while non-fiction writing is based on factual information and real experiences. Fiction allows for greater creativity and imagination, while non-fiction aims to inform, persuade, or educate readers on real-world topics.
