Iambic means composed of (or mostly composed of) iambs.

An iamb is a 'foot' in poetry, consisting of an unstressed and then a stressed beat.

For example the line "He bangs the drum and makes a dreadful noise" consists of five iambs. In "the drum", the stress is on the word drum, making "the drum" an iamb.

An iamb is a 'foot' in poetry.

It's how syllables are measured per line.

Iambic Pentameter is like

(ba BUM ba BUM ba BUM ba BUM ba BUM)

Theres also Trochee which is like Iamb except backwards

(BUM ba BUM ba BUM ba BUM ba BUM ba)

One Iam equals, U /

U = unaccented syllable

/ = accented syllable

It's basically just how you say the worlds.

Iambic meters are particularly effective in the English language. Iambic pentameter is used in many English poetry forms. The iambic measure (foot) has a syllable that is not stressed followed by one that is. Five iambic feet is the typical measure in a line of poetry.
