As a guy myself, I often wonder why girls worry so much about this. Any guy would think it is awesome is a girl would just walk up and say hi and attempt to start a conversation. That is the best way to go about it. If you don't think he notices you, make the first move. Ask him/her how they are doing and if they want to hang out some time.
It is simple, easy and trust me, we will respond to that.
