Some people think that odd numbers are bad luck, but as far as I know, the number 13 is not generally thought of as unlucky. The only exception I know of is the superstition that revolves around Friday, the 13th. Several hundred years ago, there was a secret society of rich and powerful knights who were beloved and feared by all. They were called "The Knights Templar." It was on Friday, October 13th, 1307 that the Knights Templar were arrested and executed on mass on several criminal counts by the church. That day is still feared because of the dreadful events that took place so long ago. The deaths of the Knights Templar had a profound effect on European life and the course of western history.

A lot of numbers can be unlucky, depending on which period of time you are asking about, or what background you have. The most common unlucky numbers are 13, 666 (the number of Satan) and 4 - in Greek Mythology, the lucky number was 3 so 4 was an unlucky number.

Nothing is mentioned but as there were 13 people in the New Testament (12 disciples and Jesus) it is considered unlucky. In the Exodus in the Old Testament the Jews left Egypt on the Passover (or Nisan 14 on the Jewish calendar) when all the first-born of the Egyptians died the previous night ( ie Nisan 13), so for the Egyptians "13" was definitely unlucky.
It is not unlucky. It is simply a superstition that says it is.
What numbers are very lucky depends on what superstitions you believe in. Seven is believed to be a lucky number by many people, but so is 13 which is considered to be unlucky by other people.
Friday is considered unlucky because Jesus was crucified on Friday, but in Greece and the Spanish-speaking world, Tuesday is considered the unluckiest day of the week because the Ottoman Turks conquered Constantinople on a Tuesday (May 29, 1453).
The absence of a number 13 on clocks is due to historical superstitions surrounding the number. In many cultures, the number 13 is considered unlucky, leading to its omission on clocks, buildings, and other structures. This belief is known as triskaidekaphobia. As a result, clocks typically skip from 12 to 1, avoiding the number 13 altogether.
Some cultures consider 13 to be an unlucky number, while others view it as lucky. This perception of luck associated with the number 13 varies among different societies and individuals. Ultimately, whether someone views 13 as lucky or unlucky is subjective.
Hotels and many building alike will not use the number 13 in their buildings, so you will probably never see a 13th floor.
Many people are superstitious about the number 13. Most high-rise buildings do not have a floor numbered "13", for example; floors are numbered 11, 12, 14, 15 and so on. Friday the 13th is (sometimes jokingly, but sometimes very seriously) considered to be unlucky.
