There is not a specific religion that cannot eat marshmallows. For Muslims and Jews who follow halal/kosher rules strictly, they will avoid marshmallows with Gelatin in them because gelatin is a substance derived from animals. But there are many alternative brands that do not have gelatin in them. Ex. Trader Joe's. Muslims and Jews also must be aware about the ingredients on food packages that may seem harmless, like Rice Krispies, jelly beans, and many other types of candy. On almost all food packages, though, will be a halal حلال sign or a kosher K sign, indicating that it is safe to eat.
