Born 7th December 1947, Anne Fine is the author of Children's Books and poetry through Random House Children's Books. She had the honour of being the second Children's Laureate during 2001-2003, an award given to exceptional authors. She also won the Carnegie Medal in both 1989 and 1992, and the Whitbread Award in 1993 and 1996.

Ms. Fine's dedication to the craft of writing was born early. After she finished that story, another came, and another... She's rarely stopped writing for more than a few weeks since that snowy day in the 1970s, according to her bio page.
