Braille is technique frequently used in Pokemon to create hard to solve puzzles in which players have to go researching on what is braille and how to decode it. Many people do not know what Braille is, therefore it hinders their progress in the game. Once the Braille is solved, the player can unlock items or rare Pokémon.

In Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald, Braille can be found in the Sealed Chamber southwest of Pacifidlog Town. Once you have figured out what the braille says you can unlock the three ruins around Hoenn, inside are the ancient Pokémon: Regirock, Regice and Registeel. These three Pokémon are the key to unlocking Regigigas in Pokémon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum.

In Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, Braille can be found in Mount Ember and on the entrance of Dotted Hole. Once solved, the items Ruby and Sapphire can be obtained to unlock the National Pokédex, and the ability to trade Pokémon between Firered/Leafgreen and Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald.
