Yes, definitely.
The "five senses" are sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch. However, this traditional list leaves out several things that clearly exist and are sensory in nature: balance, for example. There's also a general positional awareness sense (most people know where their hands, feet, etc. are even if they're not looking at them; if you want to demonstrate it, you can probably close your eyes and still touch the tip of your nose with your finger without poking yourself in the eye).
Even the division into 5 is somewhat arbitrary: a lot of what we think of as "taste" is really conveyed by smell, and while temperature sensitivity is considered part of "touch", it would be just as reasonable to count it as a separate sense.
In addition to these demonstrable human senses, many animals have senses that are either nonexistent or at least not proven to exist in humans. Several species have a sort of "directional sense" that allows them to detect the Earth's magnetic field and orient themselves by it. Most aquatic species, even completely blind ones, know which direction "up" is (without visual cues it's difficult for humans to tell). Some creatures, such as electric eels, can sense disturbances in their own electrical fields to know when another creature is swimming nearby. The echolocation ability of bats and some marine mammals may or may not count as a new sense. Pit vipers can sense the body heat of warmblooded creatures using a pair of distinct organs ... again, whether this counts as a new sense or just a kind of sight extended into the infrared is debatable.
some scientists say that temperature is a sense
touch Really? I thought it was sight because the eyes are always building an image. Everytime you look at something your eyes are making that image and making the image is more complicated than it looks.
The 5 sense are: sight, hearing, touch, scent and taste
Chemical senses, such as taste and smell, are centered around detecting specific chemical molecules. Non-chemical senses, like sight, hearing, touch, and balance, rely on detecting stimuli other than chemicals, such as light, sound waves, pressure, and movement. Both types of senses play distinct roles in how we perceive and interact with the world around us.
It would be wrong to assume the 5 senses are independent of each other since they are connected to each other. The senses are all interconnected and coordinated by the brain so as to function together.
The five senses (sight, hearing, taste, smell, touch) interact and work together to provide overall sensory perception. For example, the taste of food can be influenced by its smell, and touching an object can help with understanding its texture and shape. This integration of senses allows for a more comprehensive understanding of the world around us.
Extrasensory means having more than 5 senses, and us humans have 5. If you have 6 or more, than you are WEIRD.
Considering senses, dogs are more complex, dogs have 6 senses, whereas humans av 5.
It is not even true that we have 5 senses. It was a number hypothesised by philosophers. However it leaves out many other senses such as sense of balance, sense of nausea etc. The actual number is somewhat debated, though thought to be at least 11. I doubt the correct number of senses a shark has is less than 11 however it is likely more of an unknown than the number of senses humans have.
cats senses are 80% more powerful than a humans
Yes you can.Scientists all over studied this and finally they found the 6th sense. I don't know what it is but definitely there is 1 more sense!
Well it is important to use all 5 senses such as hear feel touch smell and sight because without them you could not do a lot. For example if we had no sight we would be blind. Or if we had no smell then our noses would have no use. Or if we had no feel than our hands would have no use same as touch. And no hear than how would we use our ears for? And that is why all 5 senses are like so important.add And we have a lot more senses other that the oft-quoted five. We have two or three different pain senses, we have balance, binocular vision, colour perception - and so on. Perhaps you could find some more. (they are there.)
There are 5 traditional senses; sight, hearing, touch, taste, and smell. The sixth sense is usually in reference to paranormal gifts such as precognition, this is not a sense. However there are more senses than the traditional five. The feeling of; balance and speed, temperature, pain, and time are only a few senses we have beyond the traditional five.
because human are more intelligent than animal.
multisensory : adjective . Relating to or involving several bodily senses: multisensory methods of reading instruction.
A cat has 5 senses, just as humans do. However, unlike humans, cats see very well at night. Their hearing is acute. Their taste buds register more sour than the sweetness humans prefer. Their whiskers are especially sensitive to vibration and touch.
The 5 senses were said to be a basis for survival. Now in this age, we can survive without one.
