Nuts and bolts made up of the same metal are preferred because they have the same strength and stress resistance.
Bolts and Nuts are fastened together by their threads. Like the weakest link in a chain, the weakest shear plane in the thread profile will be the area where a break starts. There is no point in joining two threads together if one is weaker than the other. The strength of the "join" or connection will then be determined by the thread made of the weakest material. Therefore, to obtain the strongest connection, do not have a weaker material on either bolt or nut, but instead make their strengths the same. That is why they are usually specified of very similar strength materials.
However, in an emergency, materials may be different IF galvanic corrosion is not a critical issue for the expected lifespan of that connection. Just be assured that the weakest material will be the strength that you use in your design.
Nuts and bolts are made up of same metals because metals which are closer as much as possible in galvanic series have same properties due to which the corrosion can be reduced.
Using a nut and bolt made up of the same metal is preferred in order to avoid corrosion.
to avoid galvanic corrosion
If by non rusting you mean it is in the same state it was made in then it wouldn't be part of any change. But if something is rusting it would be a chemical change because the metal is changing composition and it is not the same metal it was in the first place.
It is safer to use...say a wooden spoon instead of a metal spoon because metal is a heat conductor...or when metal touches heat the heat goes through the metal (it does the same with electricity). There is a simple answer for it!
The plastic drink bottle feels warmer than a metal can because the metal can has a higher thermal conductivity compared to the plastic drink bottle. Thermal conductivity is the property of a substance to conduct heat, and the metal can, being made of metal, has a much higher ability to conduct heat compared with the plastic bottle. This means that when you touch the metal can, it draws out your own body heat faster than than when you touch the plastic bottle, so the can feels cooler.
An HQI metal halide lamp belongs to the family of metal halide HID lamps. Hydrargyum quartz iodide (HQI) lamps differ from standard metal halide lamps in that they are often smaller and are offered in double ended versions and require a special socket. The gasses and metal halide salts used in HQI and standard metal halide lamps are the same.
mass is sort of like the measure of an objects volume, and has no set number per substance, but density is a fixed figure. As to which object is denser, it depends what type of metal you are talking about, but most of the time metal would be more dense. As to how much mass they have, it depends how big the piece of Styrofoam is, and what type and how big the metal is.
Using a nut and bolt made up of the same metal is preferred in order to avoid corrosion.
Metal Mesh is made on Looms, the same way fabric is made.
It all depends on the size of the three items - a metal cube with volume 1 cm3 will weigh far less than one of the bolts they used to attach the space shuttle to the launch pad, correct? And it also depends on the metals in question - an iridium cube will weigh more than a magnesium nut made from the same volume of metal, because iridium is very heavy and magnesium is much lighter. If you had these three objects all of the same metal and they all weighed the same, the cube would be smaller because a cube is a more compact shape than a nut or bolt.
Preferred stocks and preferred are exactly the same thing. Preferred is just an abbreviation that is used so that people in the know can use their jargon.
If the bolt is inside the wood, why need to worry, hammer it to go inside. put wood putty to cover it. If the bolt is sheared inside a metal part, Drill the bolt's center with smaller bit, and put tap of same size of the bolt.(It works for rusted and corroded bolts got sheared inside the metal part).
They can be made of the same material but they are not the same. A rod is a rod and a nut & bolt are not even close to being the same thing although a nut & bolt may start out as a rod of steel.
Sheet metal can be made of different materials. It is called sheet metal because of its shape which is thin and flat.
Copper-nickel clad "sandwich" metal, the same as dimes and quarters.
Currently? The same materials they are made of everywhere; ceramics, glass, metal, etc.
Anode is the negative terminal of a battery. It is made of Tungsten which is the same metal used in the filaments of bulbs.
This question if probably from the same person who asked "What type of metal are hws beyblades made of?", but the answer is still "zinc alloy".
