Scientist study the spectra of stars using an instrument called a spectroscope. A spectroscope spreads light into different wavelengths. By using these spectroscopes astronomers can study stars characteristics( temperatures, compositions and energies).

Astronomers help because they can help measure the time, or what day it is for the caravans.
Astronomers invented the sun dial. They could help by assisting the caravans with their time managements and how many hours they had until the night came.
India astronomers recognized that the earth was a sphere.

The elemental composition of the materiel forming the spectrum.
Astronomers study the spectrum of light emitted by a star to learn about its characteristics. By analyzing the composition of elements, temperature, and density of a star, astronomers can determine its size, age, brightness, and life cycle stage.
A spectroscope is used to diffuse the light from a star into its spectrum, so that astronomers can analyze the elements that make up the star. The same sort of instrument can be used to analyze the elemental composition of ANYTHING; for terrestrial uses, the instrument is called a spectroGRAPH.
A spectrograph is a device that separates light from stars and other objects into its different wavelengths to produce a spectrum. This allows astronomers to study the composition, temperature, and other properties of the object emitting the light through analysis of the spectrum.
They use a spectrograph to pass light through a prism to break it the light waves into its constituent colors. Then by looking at what colors are missing they can determine both the temperature and composition of the star.

An electromagnetic apparatus for separating isotopes of uranium and other elements according to their masses, using the principle of the mass spectrograph. It lost me at 'mass spectrograph'.
Telescopes focus on certain objects that are not visible from the naked eye, they help astronomers develop new theories because they are able to see more, and they are instruments that help astronomers prove theories true/false.
A spectrograph can do that.
