Walking quickly (power-walking) may take you up to speeds of 5mph. At this speed, it will take you one hour to travel five miles. I believe that the average walking speed is around 3mph. By using the formula s=d/t (where 's' is speed, 'd' distance and 't' time), we can derive that d/s=t, therefore 5/3=t, and the time is therefore somewhere in the region of 1 hour, 40 minutes.

Bear in mind that everyone has their own walking speeds. At a speed of 2mph, it would take you 2 hours, 30 minutes, so it is highly variable.
