Color, size, extremities, where they live, how they move

Most of the determinations of how to classify were done by male scientists. Some female scientist did some other classification of some plants that were different from the typical male classification and that were very reasonable. So then there were two ways to classify. In one, these two are closest, but in the other those two are closest. Which shows us that classification of species is somewhat dependent on who does it. Don't ask my cat.

Is Physical similarities are the only traits used to classify organism?

No, physical similarities are not the only traits used to classify organisms. Classification is based on a combination of physical traits, genetic relatedness, and evolutionary history. Other characteristics like behavior, habitat, and biochemical composition can also be considered in the classification of organisms.

What are two traits used to classify organisms into each domain?

Two traits used to classify organisms into each domain are cell type (prokaryotic or eukaryotic) and cellular structure (presence or absence of a nucleus). These traits help differentiate between the three domains of life: Archaea, Bacteria, and Eukarya.

What traits did linnaeus consider when classifying organisms?

Linnaeus considered physical characteristics, such as anatomical structures and reproductive organs, along with behavioral traits to classify organisms. He also examined the overall morphology and life cycle of organisms to categorize them into different groups based on similarities and differences.

If two organisms have similar traits in DNA what do they have in common?

If two organisms have similar traits in their DNA, they likely share a common ancestor. This genetic similarity suggests that their evolutionary paths diverged more recently compared to organisms with greater genetic differences. Additionally, these traits may indicate shared functions or adaptations that have been preserved through evolution. Such similarities can be used to classify species and understand their evolutionary relationships.

How are anatomical features used to classify organisms?

These features were used to classify organisms before the development of DNA analysis. This way, scientists were able to look at certain morphological traits to classify the organism and then correlate them to their closest relatives. For example. Although bats are a lot like birds, certain morphological traits allow them to be classified as something other than birds. i.e. they are mammals - they have similar bone structure to most mammals In this regard, it is based traits other than their wings that they are classified as mammals, and not birds. Hope this helps
