I have a minor in chemistry as part of my bachelor's degree. While in undergraduate I tutored fellow students in inorganic, organic and biochemistry for three years, and my mother has taught high school chemistry for 35 years. Based on all of this, I would say I know a fair deal of chemistry, particularly inorganic chemistry.
The real question is, what do you want to know about chemistry?
"chemo" is of greek origin and it comes from the greek word "χημεία" (cheemeea= chemistry).
The English word mole comes from the German word "Mol", short for "Molekulargewicht" meaning "molecular weight". This is thought to have come from the French word "moléculaire" meaning "molecule".The Latin root is "molecula" a diminitive for the word "moles" meaning "mass".The word "mole" is used when we're talking about numbers of atoms and molecules.
Biochemistry
The word "chemistry" is derived from the ancient Greek word "khemeia," which referred to the practice of mixing liquids. It originally encompassed the study of interactions between substances and the transformation of matter.
The word "alkali" comes from the Arabic word "al-qalīy" which means "the calcined ashes." It was used to describe compounds that had a basic pH and derived from ashes, such as potash.
