You need to see a dentist to determine why your gums are changing color. It could be something as simple as needing a thorough dental cleaning or an amalgam tattoo to something far more serious, such as metal toxicity or poisoning.

Your gum tissue (gingiva) is essentially colorless. The coral or salmon color that you see is actually your blood supply within the tissue. Gingiva can have darker pigmentation within it if melanin is present. This is fairly common in people with darker skin color (those with mid-eastern or black descent). If your tongue is coated with white substance, believe it or not, that is a kind of mold. If your diet is not completely balanced, this can happen.
