How do you know if you have a phobia?

You know you have a phobia when you are not able to supress your fear. You enter in panic, you sweat, you cant stand looking at whatever your phobia is, you cant even say the name, you feel like screaming, you feel terrified.

I think I have Fragariaphobia, but not severely. I just wont eat strawberries. The little creatures in the fruit are known as the spotted wing drosophilas, which lay eggs inside strawberries. It comes up with a lot of things. I myself have wondered if I have Philophobia. You can have problems with staying in a relationship; especially when the relationship starts becoming more serious. Some people have random dislikes for people who show interest in them, others refuse to even enter a relationship. Another symptom is when you get short of breath, panic attacks, And stomach pain. People are also known to try and find or convince themselves something is wrong or bad about a person when on occasion they have nothing wrong at all. I'm not an expert on this, but I hae searched on it many times and have learned I may have Philophobia. I'm not sure that I can answer this authoratatively but my son, who is 15 years old, has a terrible fear of strawberries. He is acually horrified of them. This is so unusual as he has no fears of anything else I know of. But if he sees a strawberry top in the sink he actually jumps with fear. I was eating a strawberry and I pretended to throw it at him. He jumped like a little, scared child having a cobra thrown on them. He has never tasted a strawberry but he is terrified of them. I don' t know why.

If you are trying to identify your own phobias youll know, it may be a string on the floor or a spider in the corner or a picture of a snake on tv but you will react as if someone just turned a murderous man eating tiger in a small room with you. You will, within less than a second, have a strong reaction, with bodily symptoms, that prepares your body for flight or fight.
