There is evidence that some people of northern European descent have a certain genetic characteristic making them (apparently) immune to HIV, or at least to the HIV mutations as they currently exist. I'm a little uncomfortable contributing this in the fear that some may make unreasonable assumptions and take unnecessary risks. This genetic characteristic is rare, and I certainly wouldn't want to bet the farm on a flimsy hope and end up with a condition that I can't undo.

Diseases like cancer and HIV show little sign ofvaccination or medication. Scientists have discovered that the some people have genes that make them immune to certain diseases. Scientists have evidence that there is this gene that has mutated coincidentally. Our ancestors have had to ward off many diseases like HIV and as a result of evolution this could have made some of our generation to be immune to certain diseases. Sci-ency bit This mutated gene is the instructions to make a cytotoxic T-Lymphocyte. The T-Lymphocyte contains two receptors on its surface - These allow a virus' capsid to enter the CD4 cell. When a person holds two copies of this mutated gene one of the receptors (CCR5) disappears (some scientists differ as they believe that this receptor hides beneath the surface of the cell when a person is immune to this diease). So in turn the virus is unable to enter the CD4 cell because one of the keys are missing/hidden. This is what make a person immune to HIV.

Yes. First, HIV must be transmitted blood to blood. It must be injected to the inside of your blood stream or into a part of your body that has HIV receptors. If someone spills blood infected with HIV on your skin and you do not have a cut, you should not get infected. Even if it gets inside your mouth, if you do not have a cut, you might not get infected. (Dentists have infected patients because dental work caused bleeding and the virus got into the blood stream.)

There are people in the North West corner of Russia who have natural immunity to HIV. The receptors on their T4 cells are a little different from other people's. they can not catch HIV.

How does a person get influenza?

* The disease spreads from person to person through the air by droplets from the nose and mouth of a person who has the disease germs. * People can spread the disease before they show signs of being ill. * When you touch things that have been contaminated by droplets containing Influenza virus (e.g. telephones, towels, tissues, shaking hands), your hand can then carry the virus to your nose, mouth or eyes, where it enters your body. * Only a small amount of contact is needed to spread the infection.

Can immune problems be deadly?

yes possibly if they do drop down the immune systems power, which could then make a person pick up something for eg like a flu and it could have a massive effect to the point the body cant protect itself and attack the virus which then could cause death if left untreated

Why even if a person recovers from a cold that person could get a cold again?

a person could catch A cold again because their immune system is weak but the WON'T catch the same cold again because their anti-bodies will have killed the infection and will know that it is the same germ again and kill it.
