What is the difference between HIV positive and HIV negative?

They both mean the same. If you do NOT have HIV, then you are said to be HIV negative. The HIV virus, which may lead to AIDS if untreated, is spread by sharing needles and by sexual intercourse. So to avoid HIV, you should never share injecting needles (get a new one, or make sure the old one is REALLYsterile), and you should always use a condom when having sex. HIV usually can't be spread by oral sex. The virus has to pass into your bloodstream. If you have terrible teeth and your gums are all bleeding then you shouldn't be sucking any strange penises. HIV CAN'T be spread through toothpicks, razors, toothbrushes, cutlery, plates, glasses etc. It can't be spread through kissing or masturbation.

HIV Positive means that you have the presense of the Human Immuniodefiency Virus in your body or HIV anti-bodies (depends on which test is preformed). HIV is the virus that attacks t-cells for replication and weaks the immune system which causes AIDS.
