What should blood pressure reading be when taking blood pressure medication?

You can take your blood pressure as often as you like. But to make sure that you are getting an accurate reading you should be taking it the same time of day for a couple days in a row to really have a good idea of what it is at. Do it when you are relaxed.

In the morning and in the afternoon. The best time is right after awakening. Do not check it while on the bed. Stand up, sit down and stretch your left arm, positioning it horizontally. Use a digital device for blood pressure checking, and follow instructions which come together with the device.

For a complete evaluation of your blood pressure, take it twice a day, morning and afternoon during a week, take note of the results. and bring the result to your medical doctor.
