How long you have to wait before you can feel the heroin after taking suboxone?

Suboxone has a very long half life in your system usually lasting about 36-48 hours. Even after this you may not feel the "full effect" (depending how long you have been taking subox and dosage you take daily) but it will def get you nodding out. Be careful, being that suboxone is an opiate blocker many people do not feel the "full" effect and do more in hopes they will, if this is the case please keep in mind it is still possible to overdose without fully feeling the effects. I have seen this happen to a friend of mine.

for sure the above post is very correct...i know someone who was on suboxone and did heroin and kept doing it cause he didnt feel it (because the sub was blocking the opiate receptors) and he od'd and died.....i wouldn't recommend it at all but if you must please wait until the sub is completely out of your system (like the above post says at least 36 hours) because you would have to do a lot to feel it and at that point it may be too much without even knowing it....be careful....and even then if you have been on sub your heroin tolerance may have gone down so don't do as much as you were used to.

∙ 14y agoAfter about 36 hours, you will be able to feel the effects of the heroin a little bit, but you won't be able to get a full-blown heroin high for at least 48 to 72 hours. If you don't take Suboxone regularly, however, the time frame will probably be a little shorter.

∙ 14y agoAccording to my doctor, if you have been taking saboxone for a long period of time you must wait 3 days to feel the opiate. If you have only been taking it for a few days than you have to wait until you are sick or you will get very ill.

∙ 13y agoYou should wait as long as possible, at least 36 hours, before even attempting heroin. You're just wasting your drugs & money otherwise, those subs will make you frustrated indeed. I would recommend going a bit into withdrawal before you switch back.

You will get very very sick do not do this and it is a waste of money as well because after taking suboxone your opiate receptor will be saturated, so not only will you get sick but you will not even feel the heroin.

Not unless you feel like going into intense precipitated withdrawals and wanting to claw your eyes out. Trust me, don't do it. In fact, you need to wait at the bare minimum 12-15 hours after your last dose of heroin until you can take suboxone. You should really wait 24 hours though. You need to be in withdrawal from the heroin before the suboxone will work without making it ten times worse.

If you have the standard 8mg Suboxone, try cutting it into quarters. Take one quarter of Suboxone and wait about one hour. If you still feel crappy, try taking another quarter. Suboxone is strong, effective stuff! I was addicted to 80-120mg of Oxycontin and one quarter of Suboxone completely melted away my withdrawal symptoms. Good luck!

no the suboxone blocks the "high" feeling. if you are not going into withdrawal yet do not take suboxone as it will push you into full withdrawal and you will be sick. it should not be started until 12 hours into withdrawal.

I can answer this question from personal experience. I'm a struggling recovering opiate addict and am now prescribed to Suboxone. I'm prescribed 4mg in the morning and 4mg in the early evening, so 8mg a day. I know that if I wait for 24 hours after taking my last dose of Suboxone I can feel about 60%-70% of the oxy. If I continue to do them, the amount that I am able to feel it goes up. After the third day of being off my Suboxone I can finally feel the oxy 100%.
